Overview
When cable runs, damaged conduit, or wide open spaces stand between you and reliable access control, the Cypress SPX-5631 wireless reader extender delivers a fast, rugged solution. This Cypress Suprex reader extender pair provides secure 2.4 GHz wireless (IEEE 802.15.4) connectivity and up to a 1-mile outdoor line-of-sight range, so you can place OSDP or Wiegand readers where wiring is impractical. Built for outdoor deployments, the IP65 ABS enclosures protect the units from weather while preserving reader LED, auxiliary I/O, and relay functionality for seamless integration with controllers, alarms, and monitoring systems. The SPX-5631 supports both modern OSDP and legacy Wiegand protocols — enabling phased upgrades and mixed-reader environments — and can be expanded in Wiegand mode to connect multiple readers on the same link. Installed as a preconfigured Central/Remote pair, it reduces setup time and installation costs for security integrators, facility managers, and IT teams. Backed by US manufacturing, lifetime warranty, and in-house tech support, the SPX-5631 is ideal for perimeter security, parking lots, campuses, and transit crossings. Add the Cypress SPX-5631 to your access control design to simplify deployments and improve surveillance and monitoring — order or contact sales to get started.
